Adding a Splash of Colour

After living in dark jumpers, jeans and chelsea boots I have invested in some colourful clothes for the Spring and Summer. Excuse the blurred photo but the camera didn't seem to like to focus on these gorgeous tops so lets pretend they are meant to look like that. These lovelies are from French Connection and I may have to return and buy some more. As soon as I went into the store I was excited to be shopping and instantly wanted some bright clothes to wear in this, erm, miserable dull weather?! The sun seems to have come and gone but these clothes are staying out. The pink jumper was is a soft knit that isn't too heavy and is perfect for those summer evenings - it retails at £49 but is on sale at £29 (bargain!). The orange top is three quarter sleeved and has a little collar to make it even cuter - it retails at £32 but don't forget if you're a student you get 15% off! Let me know what summer clothes you have been picking up in the comments below xx

No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation

For the past week I have been trying No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation in the colour Warm Ivory. It makes claims on the packaging like 'Up to 14 hours shine free complexion and a soft, even finish...our moisturising formula helps to balance oily and dry areas, for an all over flawless finish.' It advises on the packaging to either apply with your fingers or with a sponge, now I have tried it with my fingers and also with a brush and I would recommend to use a brush. It has a powdery texture and when you use your fingers the foundation seems to be more drying and moves around on the skin a lot compared to blending with a brush; I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. I do agree with the long wearing claims as I found that the foundation gives a nice velvet look to the skin and after wearing it all day in the sun it looked the same as when I had applied it in the morning. I do use a powder over the top but just lightly and I didn't need to re-apply any powder throughout the day. It says on the packaging medium to full coverage but I would say it is medium but can be built up to medium to full with a lot of blending and building. I was colour matched in store by a lady at the counter who matched me as the lightest colour however this one matched better because of my yellow based skin, the lighter one was way too ashy. So there is definitely a colour for everyone in the range whether you are fair and pale or tanned and yellow toned. This foundation retails at around £13.50 in Boots stores and I would recommend to anyone with oily skin who wants a velvet matte look that will last all day. This is definitely now one of my new favourite foundations! Let me know if you have tried it too and what you think xx

Date Night At Las Iguanas

On Monday we, the boyfriend and I, took a trip into town and had dinner at Las Iguanas. Now, it has been said that I do like a bit of Las Iguanas and have in the past visited twice a week for a spot of lunch! I have probably tried three quarters of the menu and always love it. I even eat all the sweetcorn dip (which you can see from the evidence above). I had the Brie and Mango Empenadas for starter which I adore, you may be thinking erm cheese + mango? What the hell?! BUT no it is actually crispy and melty and amazing. I had a Garlic Mushroom Burrito for mains with a huge portion of Sweet Potato Fries to share and to finish three scoops of Dulce de Leche Ice Cream - hence the empty bowl below because dessert is too good to stop and take a picture of first. If you have been to Las Iguanas before you will know they do Happy Hour all day Sunday to Wednesday aka 2 4 1 Cocktails, so to take advantage I had a couple of their Mango Collins.  I always enjoy Las Iguanas and the servers are (usually) really nice (we won't go into detail with the "usually" there). The lighting was terrible because we were sat in the window at 9pm but hopefully the photo's do the meal justice. Does anyone else love Las Iguanas as much as me? Maybe it's weird but let me know! xx
