For the past week I have been trying No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation in the colour Warm Ivory. It makes claims on the packaging like 'Up to 14 hours shine free complexion and a soft, even finish...our moisturising formula helps to balance oily and dry areas, for an all over flawless finish.' It advises on the packaging to either apply with your fingers or with a sponge, now I have tried it with my fingers and also with a brush and I would recommend to use a brush. It has a powdery texture and when you use your fingers the foundation seems to be more drying and moves around on the skin a lot compared to blending with a brush; I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. I do agree with the long wearing claims as I found that the foundation gives a nice velvet look to the skin and after wearing it all day in the sun it looked the same as when I had applied it in the morning. I do use a powder over the top but just lightly and I didn't need to re-apply any powder throughout the day. It says on the packaging medium to full coverage but I would say it is medium but can be built up to medium to full with a lot of blending and building. I was colour matched in store by a lady at the counter who matched me as the lightest colour however this one matched better because of my yellow based skin, the lighter one was way too ashy. So there is definitely a colour for everyone in the range whether you are fair and pale or tanned and yellow toned. This foundation retails at around £13.50 in Boots stores and I would recommend to anyone with oily skin who wants a velvet matte look that will last all day. This is definitely now one of my new favourite foundations! Let me know if you have tried it too and what you think xx
